Since 1954 the Lorton Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad has been a proud cornerstone of the Lorton community. We have been the home for hundreds of unpaid volunteers EMTs and firefighters who support our 24/7 career staff and operate on our own fire and medical apparatus. Last year our station responded to over 5,000 calls in Lorton, Fairfax Station, Mason Neck, Gunston, Fort Belvoir, Springfield, and along I-95. These emergencies included fires, car accidents, natural disasters, hazardous materials, medical emergencies, and terrorist attacks, among many others.
